The Goal of this forum

(3 posts)
  1. I would like to have a communication with interested parties about the waste stream. We all can agree that we have a waste stream made up of certain materials. The range included in our waste stream goes from heavy metals to biopolymers. SpudWare® is a step towards sustainability and efficient use of surplus feed stocks.

The ultimate goal of this forum is to change and transform our waste stream from non-degradable remnants that will last thousands of years to a compostable, burnable and renewable one that will compost into basic elements.

Isn't the best way to reduce the waste stream to change our society from a throw away culture to a reuse culture. Any bio product that requires land, water and nutrients to grow the raw material that is not just an agricultural waste product like bagasse puts an unnecessary burden on the environment. Even the use of spudware which may be constructed mostly from surplus feed stock but not necessarily continues to encourage adding more to the waste stream. If we can work on changing the culture instead of supporting it with less onerous products it might produce better results. In essence spudware as well as its companion products are like lite beer, low nicotine cigarettes and diet cola. They reduce the guilt of doing something that we know is not good for us.

  3. It is not the mission of SpudWare® to change society. We are fully committed to changing our waste stream. I believe that an educated consumer will make a much better choice about how they receive food or drink than some larger entity that pressures people to reduce their freedom of choice in lifestyle. I think it is interesting that freedom of choice is so important on the one hand but controlling the culture because we are afraid of what people will choose is ok. The reality is that we all have opinions and understandings of how life works. Freedom to choose is the most direct way to achieve a sustainable result.
Life goes by pretty fast and we all need to stop and appreciate the amazing events unfolding in our time. When we achieve the compostable waste stream, innovation will drive the most efficient use of that waste stream. I don't think we should waste our time trying to control people. Freedom and foresight is the answer.
